Crafting a cohesive yet expressive identity across distinct products

After establishing Hennessy’s masterbrand codes, the LVMH-owned maison asked NR2154 to design a new approach for their product portfolio. Spanning the range of cognacs from entry-level to ultra prestige, we extended the brand foundation to the individual products, allowing Hennessy to expand seamlessly into new markets while maintaining a connected experience across the globe.

Building on the brand codes we developed for Hennessy’s 250th anniversary, we married the maison’s heritage with the unique story of each individual cognac, creating compelling and emotional storytelling that would connect with discerning, global audiences.

James Hennessy

With a decanter designed by Marc Newson, James Hennessy cognac—named for the son of Hennessy’s founder—was developed as a travel-exclusive limited-release. Inspired by his spirit, conquering new markets and endeavoring to spread the success of Hennessy around the world, we created an identity that speaks to discovery and exploration.

X.X.O

Originally crafted in 1870 employing the then-avant-garde philosophy of setting aside eaux de vie with the greatest future potential, this modern iteration of X.X.O was created by Hennessy’s seventh-generation master blender, Yann Fillioux, resulting in an entirely new category of cognacs. The identity we developed balances heritage and modernity, subtly evoking the visionary, elegantly powerful spirit of this cognac’s legacy.

Paradis Impérial

Featuring a pure crystal decanter designed by Arik Levy, Paradis Impérial is blended from one hundred exceptional eaux de vie, each aged for a minimum of thirty years. The identity we devised was inspired by the precise art of selection that creates this unrivaled cognac.

250 Anniversary Collector's Blend

This limited-edition blend brings together spirits from four different decades. Created by master blender, Yann Fillioux, only 250 barrels were made. We extended the identity we developed for the 250th anniversary to the bottle and special gift packaging.
